Forget resolutions, here is what you need to do to boost your general health and make your skin glow with pleasure for 2018!
DRINK ENOUGH WATER
We cannot emphasize highly enough the importance of remaining hydrated.
If it is only one thing you take away from this article, it should be to ensure that you drink enough water every day.
The aim is to drink 8 eight ounce glasses a day!
We would recommend that you exfoliate your skin at least once a week, but twice a week would be better. Depending on your skin type and how many pollutants and toxins you are exposed to, it might be more often!
Don’t use anything with harsh or abrasive chemicals in it. In fact, if you have the time to, we would advise that you make your own exfoliant out of natural ingredients.
If you can’t do that, look for something with all natural ingredients. A fruit acid is recommended for the job.
MINIMIZE ALCOHOL AND CAFFEINE
There’s not much point in looking after your skincare routine, if you don’t start by taking care of what you are putting in your body.
Alcohol is a toxin and highly dehydrating. Likewise, caffeine is also very dehydrating. Keep both of these substances to an absolute minimum if you want to see an improvement in your skin and over all health.
ALWAYS GET EIGHT HOURS SLEEP
We know that this is easier said than done, but do try to get an eight hour sleep every night. Some people might get by on less, but for most people, eight hours is the required amount.
Missing out on sleep is the one thing guaranteed to make you look and feel unhealthy and potentially lead to a lower immunity to illness.
We would recommend you get a shower filter, because the water from the tap can contain harsh chemicals which will strip your skin of its moisture.
Additionally, invest in a soft brush to remove all the dead skin cells from your skin prior to showering.
MEDITATE AWAY STRESS
Meditation is something that anyone can do, anywhere, anytime (okay, within reason). It doesn’t cost anything to do and will immediately bring you calm.
Introduce this into your daily routine to destress and rejuvenate yourself.
Finally, no one is expecting you to run a marathon every day, but a bit of exercise – even just half an hour’s walk – can really help to destress you, get your circulation going and just improve your overall mood.
And that has got to be a good thing for your holistic health!
